Why order edits are a race
Order edits race against fulfilment. A wrong address fixed tomorrow becomes a reshipment and a refund. These tickets need action in minutes, not a place in the queue behind questions that can wait until the morning.
- Warehouses pick orders fast
- A missed edit means a reshipment
- A cancellation after shipping becomes a return
How Yuma edits orders
Yuma reads the request, checks whether the order has been fulfilled and, if it can still be changed, makes the change in Shopify: a corrected address, an item changed or removed, or a full cancellation with the refund. Your Handbook sets the limits, such as which changes are allowed and up to what order value.
If the order has already shipped, Yuma follows your playbook for that case or hands the ticket to your team. The same actions run on the phone, as shown in the Yuma Voice launch.
| Request | What Yuma checks | What the customer gets | Hands off when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wrong address | Fulfilment status, new address | The corrected address, confirmed | The order has shipped |
| Remove an item | Fulfilment status, order items | An updated order and refund | The change passes your limit |
| Cancel the order | Fulfilment status, your policy | A cancellation and refund | The order has shipped |
An old address, right after checkout
Jonas emails just after placing his order: he used his old address. Yuma confirms the order hasn't been fulfilled, updates the shipping address in Shopify and replies with the corrected details. The parcel leaves the warehouse heading to the right door, and nobody on the team had to step in.
